Product Description
The Pocket Tones are a handy, durable and compact device, which may be carried in your pocket or purse as a key fob; or they can fit conveniently in an instrument case for accurate tones whenever you need them. Can also be used for MandolinReviews
Not for beginnersTo effectively use this tuner, you need a really good ear for music (and a great imagination!) The garbled electronic notes are difficult to match on a violin. I thought I'd save on shipping by purchasing something small and light, but for $10 plus shipping, I was ripped off. As I said, the tuning pitch sounds terrible, and the 30-second automatic shut-off is really annoying when you're still trying to match pitch. By the way, after it shuts off it automatically returns to G, which means you waste that much time adjusting back to your original note if you weren't on G. The package boasts that it's durable, but it's the cheapest made thing I've ever seen in my entire life and one good drop would probably demolish it. I would definitely say its real value is closer to $2, and that next time i'm going to buy a real tuner!
