Nice Ax for the moneyThis guitar was even better than I expected, the picture on the website doesn't do it justice at all.
The flamed maple top is really nice, and the finish is really good with the possible exception of a slight rough finish around the dimond shaped cutouts (Soundholes). Nice deep Red and the blac trim offsets nicely.
The neck is slim, with a nice smooth taper, the neck finish is very slick. It is a fast neck with nice fretwork and my example was nicely intoned with no warp or bow.
The humbucker pickups are not the hotest out there, but they are respectable. They should offer it with the quadrails, at least in the rear position, but they are nice as is, with just a hint of growl.
Floyd Rose bridges RULE, if you like them. They tend to cause me to pick more towards the center of the body, and not as much back on the bridge. That is Ok though. It also took a bit to get used to the position of the full volume pot on the lower horn. It caused me to stay away from the neck pickup while picking, but I am now used to that also.
The body is very like a Les Paul, however it has a very strat-like neck, (slightly rounded board as opposed to a violin type curve of a Les Paul) it is kind of a Franken Krammer. It handles very well as far as moving around on stage. It has 22 frets, which comes in handy ocasionally for long wild slides, and extended soloing room.
The semi-hollow neck-thru build has a nice deep tone, and is very resonant. When played loud and dirty, it seems to be on the verge of feedback, but is very controlable.
Pro or amature, if it suits your style it will be a great guitar.
