Alex was taken under the wing at an early age by the late great trumpeter Cat Anderson of the Duke Ellington Band. Alex has performed and/or toured with Lionel Hampton, 5th Dimension, REO Speedwagon, Steve Reid of the Rippingtons, Steve Oliver, Elton John and Evelyn "Champagne" King, Tierra.
